BEGIN AGAIN!
I recently found
my daughter’s clarinet that was collecting dust in a closet for the past 10
years. When my daughter visited I gave it to her and she immediately started
playing songs. The melodies were sweet and we all stood around cheering.
Are there things that you have put away or hidden in your closet that are waiting to be pulled out and put
to use? Is it a dream of going back to school or opening your own business or revitalizing
an old talent? Whatever it is you can begin again!
Consider these action steps to revive your
dreams and make sweet music of your own:
Step 1: Make the
Decision
Your situation will not
change until you do. Decide today that you will do what’s necessary to make
things happen for you. Every journey begins with a single step. It's your time to shine!
Step 2: Know Your
Direction
Cultivate a plan with
SMART goals. These are goals that are SPECIFIC, MEASURABLE, ATTAINABLE, REALISTIC
and have a TIME component. For example, “I will contact my mentor or coach to
schedule time in the next week to develop strategies that will help me to reach
my goals. Being specific and gaining support will help you achieve results
faster.
Step 3: Remove Obstacles
Whether those obstacles are
your own thoughts, other people, money or other resources, you must address
them head own and devise ways to eliminate them. In some cases you may have to
move forward despite those obstacles. Don’t get discouraged, if it were easy
you would have done it a long time ago. But today you are stronger, smarter and
braver than you were before.
Remember this is your dream, your
time and your purpose. Do what you can do and you’ll be surprised to see how
the right people will be in the right place at the right time to support you in
your success. The moment you start to wonder if
you deserve better, YOU DO! Don't stay stuck! Begin again and live life on
purpose for your purpose.
